After making her singing debut, Seiko Matsuda has been awarded more than 40 music awards and holds the remarkable record of releasing 24 consecutive No.1 singles. Since her early career, she has also been active overseas.
Recently, her singles from the album “area 62,” released in 2002, “All to You” and “Just for Tonight,” instantly attracted public attention and placed highly on the BILLBOARD dance charts. Her talent is widely recognized in Asian countries as well. In 2005, her album in Mandarin “I’ll Fall in Love” was released in Taiwan and debuted at No.1 on the Taiwanese charts.
In Japan, she produced the album “Baby’s Breath,” released on June 6th in 2007, and wrote the lyrics and music to all the songs in the album, displaying her talent not only as a singer but also as a composer.


Apart from her successful singing career, Seiko Matsuda enjoys world wide success as an actress as well. She has starred in numerous motion pictures and TV dramas.
In December 2005, she starred in the special TV drama “Tatta hitotsu no takaramono” (The one and only) and won the “Asian Television Award,” also known as the “Asian Emmy Award,” for Best Single Drama or Telemovie Programme.
The drama was aired in October 2004 and recorded the highest rating for a television program in decades.
In 2006, she made her appearance in the German film “Shanghai Baby” and gave a distinct performance. Furthermore, in June 2007, she received the Spotlight Award at the internationally acclaimed Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia 2007
